Deejay

I had the pleasure of photographing headdshots for a theater major- here is a favorite outtake from the shoot while he was changing shirts. (all the images appear cooler in temp. on this site...bah.)

I used to think very little of formal, chest to top of head, portraits. But as I start to do more of them I realize how much I enjoy doing taking them. It usually takes me about 3 hours per gig of preparation before I give it to the client. That is 3 hours of intensely studying their blemishes, angles of their face, and complexion in different light. I have come to truly appreciate how striking each individual is. I am astounded by the complexity of facial muscles; how different some one can look by just moving the angle ever so slightly.

i'd love to see some more of your portraits, and hear some more of your philosophy on portriture as it continues to develop.
