the act of the creating is not art. the product is art. art is the articulation of a thought in concrete form. if we are not the creator then we are the critic. when the piece is created it becomes an object like anything else_ it is not the creator's thought to dictate anymore- it is fair game for the critics (original creator included and turned into a critic_a sort of betrayal).
-clarification- when said that it is an object like everything else it is meant that it is separate_there is something very intimate and sensual about idea and thought before it is acted upon...complete control. Sometimes I don't want to begin the process of articulating my thought because once the process is complete it is no longer mine...stupid catch 22(?)
