Piano Man

She is now 16. I helped her with homework and bought girl scout cookies from her.
On the way back from a late night Stage hand gig at WolfTrap her father was struck on his Harley by a Benz. the impact killed him. This happened less than a week ago.
Everyone wore colorful prints on modest cut Catholic approved clothes. He was 58.
He and his wife were an inseparable tour de force team and well liked/adored amongst the community and Theater Union. The family throws a Christmas party every year with the most decadent of homemade desserts- poached chocolate covered pears filled with marzipan, grape and pistachio cream cheese poppers etc.

They're daughter is one of the sweetest most well intentioned and intelligent teenagers i've met. She kept her euology heart felt yet concise and asked that all of us "kids" meet her at the piano after the service. It was only when i heard all our youthful treble voices filling the cathedral and watched her belting out the Piano Man with us through a wide smile that i cried.

Before his death he told his wife that he would "much rather have them play poker on his casket than grieve over it." RIP B.X.B
