After going to the hardware store looking for a new color to paint our porch table I was floored by all of the different names people had come up with for each shade. I have officially decided that it would be an incredibly bad ass job to be in charge of naming new colors into the world.
from top to bottom: The darkest shade of yellow on the flower petal will be known as May Wellies. In the lower image, the petals themselves I will name Grandmother's Rouge, the dark veins on the petals are Tart Strawberry colored while the stamen color will be Sweetened Morning Mellon. :) share your color names with me!

I have always thought paint shade names were awesome too!!! I am also just obsessed with names in general. My room is painted with Cathedral Glass (not only is the name cool, but so is the phrase. Muaha!), which is kind of a bluish teal color. = ) I also like the textures of paint, if you've looked at them. Some are really glossy and others are very matte. My room is in eggshell, which is kind of in between, closer to glossy.
